The body has a natural process of producing hair. Hair in some places is beneficial like for instance the hairs inside the nostrils. On the other hand there are places where hair is unwanted either for the purpose of keeping pure and clean or looking beautiful. Although most people would want to keep their head hair intact unless you are going for the bald look, there are many ways in which you can remove the unwanted hair on your body. Amongst these means there are some that are temporary and others that offer a permanent solution of hair removal
The most common method of removing unwanted hair for both men and women is through the use of a razor blade. Along with plucking this is one of the oldest methods of temporary hair removal that mankind has been using for years. Although fast and effective there is a downside to shaving and that is that the hair grows back at a quickened pace.
With time newer and better methods of hair removal have evolved. One of the modern ways of hair removal is through the use of depilatory products. These are basically creams that are applied to the target region and within minutes they chemically dissolve the hair. The residual is then wiped away with a cloth leaving behind soft and smooth hair. Although less laborious than shaving it has a similar downside which is that the hair grows back very soon. Moreover some people may develop irritation on their skin because of the use of depilatory creams. This is why it is important to undergo skin tests before applying such creams.
If you can sustain a bit of pain then waxing is another method of temporary hair removal. This is also quite common amongst men and women both. The return of the hair after waxing is also considerably slower than that of shaving and depilatory creams. But most people have started avoiding this method because it is time consuming as well as painful.
Another modern method of hair removal is through the process of electrolysis. Through this method an electric current is sent through the body which is set to destroy the hair follicles present in the body. The result is that the hair is removed and in some cases a repeated treatment through electrolysis can provide a permanent solution to hair removal. The results of this process however are never guaranteed. Moreover the process needs to be applied at one small area at one time which means it is quite time consuming to remove all the unwanted hair on your body through the process of electrolysis. And if you though waxing are painful then wait till you get your self electrocuted!
With advancement in science and technology have come modern methods of permanent hair removal. One of the most effective modern means of hair removal is the laser hair removal treatment. In this procedure the hair follicles are destroyed once and for all. The benefits of laser hair removal treatment are that it can be used all over the body and relatively larger areas can be targeted at one time. Although it is the most effective it is quite expensive and not everyone can afford it.
